Can anyone tell me if it is normal to wait 4 to 5 days to get an engineer to visit?

 

Can someone tell me if it is normal to be told BT are going to send a boost engineer and you will have to wait 7 days in total (weekend) and then when the engineer turns up he says no he is just an ordinary engineer (good bloke though)

but couldn't find why my speed keeps dropping to approx 500KB/s over the weekend and bank hoildays.

Have you contacted the helpdesk, keithgeach?  You didn't mention that it was a Boost engineer in your PM.  Boost engineers are in great demand, it is likely that there will be a few days delay in being able to have one sent out to customers.  Clearly, we need to investigate this for you.
