Is it possible to connect a fax machine to a hosted voip line and if so how?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi CJA50
Yes this is possible as long as you are using a BT 2700 or a 2701 and are not currently using the voip function.
you would go to www.bt.com/businessbbv and enter the 0560xxxxxxx and password you would like to use as a fax, follow the online instructions and when it asks for a username and password after the 3rd step this is:
username:admin
password: (this is your router password, if you have not changed this will be your serial number on the side of the router) please use the numbers only.
After you have gotten configuration successful plug the 2wire phone adaptor into the phoneline port on the back of your BT BUsiness router and then plug fax into line one of the 2 wire splitter.
Make sure your fax is set to auto answer and test.
Hope this helps.

I have followed what you said and it works fine - thank you for your help - I am not sure how I would have found how to do this without the forum
