Hi Guys,
Have phoned the business ordering team this morning regarding purchasing 2 fibre connections for our office. The problem I am having is that our exchange (Finchley, London) is Fibre ready and can deliver a Fibre connection (I have infinity at home, from the same exchange) but when I put in one of our businesses 'broadband' phone numbers and postcode, I am told it is not available in my area. The ordering team suggest that because it is not available on BT wholesale, the cannot sell it to me. They cannot explain how I can order it from my home address nor why if it is available at the exchange, I cannot buy. There was some excuse about lines are activated at different times but apparently our whole exchange went live from December 2011 (or possibly earlier)?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Colin
Hi,
The exchange may be enabled, but the green cabinet that feeds your line might not be.
Any online checker (e.g. Sam Knows) may show fibre as available, but the BT Wholesale checker will tell you whether it's available on your line or not, and any date that it's estimated to turn up:

Hope that helps.
Cheers.

True. Providers don't really select customers to offer service. I would wait for a while.
Or maybe talk to someone from tier2 with more access to the serviceability tool and could explain further on why this ain't available to you yet.
