Has anyone had see nthis in google sitemaps.

I submitted my URL sitemap into google that  I got from the google registration in the epages.  Once google had found the sitemap google added another sitemap automatically without me doing anything and now I can't delete this sitemap and keep getting errors.

So now have have 2 sitemaps in google 1 as  a tick next to it and one has a red x next to it.  I am assuming this is why my site isn't indexed yet.

The sitemap I added was http://www.what-animals-want.co.uk/epages/BT3313.sf/?ViewAction=ViewSitemap&ChangeAction=BlockMonitor&ObjectID=6680745 and this gets a green tick.

The sitemap google addeda automatically was http://www.what-animals-want.co.uk/epages/BT3313.sf/?ViewAction=ViewSitemap&ChangeAction=BlockMonitor and this gets a red X.

Can anyone help me with this, if not then please let me know??

Hi Norman,

You have nothing to worry about, delete the sitemap with the red X as they are duplicates. Your website is indexed by Google, you can see this by typing 'site:www.what-animals-want.co.uk' into the Google search bar or click this link:

Thanks Orchie but there was no Red X next to it as it appears under the ALL section.  The sitemap I submitted is the only one that appears under Mine and I can delete this.  The problem is now that 2 sitemaps are there the same files are indexed in google twice.

So how can I get rid of the sitemap that appears under ALL?

Any further help will be much appreciated

Can you not go to 'Site Configuration > Sitemaps > All' and delete it there?
