Google verification error - problem with BT host?

keep getting the following error when I try to index my site:

Meta tag

Verification failed. Your site's home page returns a status of 403 (Forbidden) instead of 200 (OK).

Why am I getting this status instead of 200?

I am using BT starter web hosting.
