HELP-bUSINESS NUMBER TRANSFER NEW PREMISES

NUMBERLESS
Member
We opened our business June 1999, had a telewest line but when we upgraded our computer system we transferred to BT and kept our number without any problem in 2005.  We contacted BT as we were moving premises and agreed to the move on the basis that although they could not move our number on our main line due to it being on a different exchange (unbelievable in 2012 ) but they would easily port the number onto a VoIP line as we were taking BT Broadband and ditching Demon broadband even though that meant we have to pay out the remaining term of our Demon contract.  We moved Monday 19/11/12, BT messed that up and the engineer did not come until the afternoon of 20/11/12.  We grudgingly accepted as we had no choice we had diverted our number to our BT mobile which we have had for some time as we need to be available 24/7 so divert every night and weekend anyway so it was an acceptable situation.  Engineer came yesterday, the new number was given and we asked when we could get the Falcon MkII VoIP phone, he had no clue.  The "Movers" team called and again we said we needed the VoIP phone urgently, she would call us back -STILL WAITING.  We also said that the new landline number would not divert to our mobile as agreed, she would sort that too-STILL NOT SORTED.  Someone-not our "Movers contact" called this morning and again was told the divert did not work and we urgently needed the VoIP phone - he would get that ordered and said it was and he would call re the divert later -NO CALL BACK.  Then at 1646 I get a call from the original sales guy to say we could not keep our business number and it could not be ported onto VoIP as had been agreed, he then passed me to his line manager who said the same.  They claimed it was because the number was originally a virgin number, they knew this and said it was an error by them,  this is unbelievable and unacceptable, we have had this number since the firm opened in June 1999.  It was made clear IN WRITING and accepted by them that this number was non negotiable and absolutely essential for us to have a business.  The number was moved to BT SEVEN YEARS AGO.  This makes no sense at all, can someone PLEASE help before we lose our business.
