I hope someone can help me. I am using EasySiteWizard Pro and I am following the instructions so far as I can understand them as follows:- I am going to "Plug Ins" and selecting the "flycounter" I am met with a screen which I click install. The top half of the menu tells me it has installed it onto my Website and the bottom half tells me to cut and paste the html code into my page and it should work!!!!
Well unfortunately it isn't working! In order to paste it into the html code I am selecting "Advanced options (In EasysiteWizard Pro) then html code opens up. I have tried to paste the code into different parts of the existing html code and selecting apply but still nothing appears on my "Index Webpage"
PLEASE CAN ANYBODY OFFER SOME HELP in clear basic step by step language for instance how do I know where the hit counter will appear just by guessing where to paste a code into a whole html page of letters and characters.
It is so frustrating I am just hoping someone has had similar issues and knows the answer. Many thanks in advance.
As this is my first time I've ever posted anything I only hope I know how to see any responses!! Cheers
Presuming you are using Easysitewizard 6, you only need to select Sitesparks (3rd icon at the top right of the toolbox) and choose Add Counter. This will automatically add the counter and generate the html. So you should not really need to add any code yourself.
In Easy Site Wizard Pro you would have to paste it in the code however. A few good tips would be to place a text box near where you want the counter to appear, type something like "test" in the box and then search for that text in the code. That will give you a general idea of where you would be pasting the code. After that you may need to use <p> tags or <Br> tags to get it exactly where you want it. Check out W3schools.com for some basic HTML tips, it's what I use in a pinch.
Word of caution however, if you add code to Easy Site Wizard Pro that it does not recognize it may not allow you to publish/edit that section with the program. If that occurs you would want to paste in the code in the rare files which can be found in File Manager. So at present it may be best to either use Easy Site Wizard 6 for now, as this functionality is built in to it, or wait for Easy Site Wizard pro to provide an update that allow you to do the same without editing code.
Hope this helps.
Many Thanks for your suggestion I will try that as it sounds a good idea to me.
