Hi
Ive upgraded our company website to a wordpress site - the development/beta work was done on a test site and its currently residing on another sever....I now need to transfer the wordpress site to our BT webspace -
....ive backed up the workfiles for the site and the SQL database so all is ready to be uploaded/FTP'd across....problem is Im not really sure where to transfer it to!?....does it just replace the existing html file structure in the public directory?....and where does the database go?....
also, I obviously need it to use the company domain name rather than the temp one it has now..but not really sure how to go about that either!...will it automatically default to the existing domain if it's put in the correct directory??.......any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi arpster,
When you are uploading a website to our hosting you need to upload it to the public folder, as you are using wordpress you may need to install wordpress on your hosting before you upload the site.
You can install wordpress through the hosting control panel.

So it seems I cant upload a wordpress site to BT hosting without 'upgrading' to professional webhosting...the main benefits of which appear to be unlimited webspace and unlimited bandwith - something which a) I dont require ...and b) cant afford.......but unless i make this upgrade I cant access the PhpMyAdmin software needed to import the wordpress database....phpmyadmin comes as standard on just about every other hosting site Iver looked at so I think my only option is to transfer my domain and hosting away from BT...which is a shame because we've been with them for the past 15 years or so without much bother....but money, as ever, talks
