How do I white list my web business with BT email servers

Hi,
I run a web business and as part of the customer regstration process and order tracking, my website automatically emails customers.
The problem I have is that none of my automatic emails are getting through to my customers is their email address is with BT.
However, when I manually send an email using MS Outlook, the email gets through.
I don't have this problem with any other ISP and while I applaud ISPs trying to protect inboxes from junk emails, mine are genuine!!!
I have tried calling them, but absolutely no joy whatsoever.
Does anyone know the process of getting "white listed" with BT or can anyone tell me what additional header information I need to include in my automatic emails to customers (the emails are sent using the PHP mail() command)

I've just come across this problem with sending Emails using my BT account - is there an online way Of doing it? I rang B Telecom there but it's about a 30min wait and I would really like to speak to someone in my own country (N. Ireland) but this never happens.
