Hi
I want to move my email to Google Apps email service.
To do this, Google provide me with instructions to delete the original MX records (I can do this) but when I try to save the new MX records I get an error message saying 'you must enter a valid domain name'. I did a search and could only find one suggestion of entering the details in lowercase which made no difference. BT have previously confirmed the MX records are not locked.
I want to do this over the weekend ideally to minimise disruption. Any suggestions on how to make it work?
Thanks
Gareth

Hi,
I am having the same problem. Is there any action that a cusotmer can take to change this withoiut having to contact the BT helpdesk? I have tried emailing the helpdesk and also calling BT support and after 3 days still not solved.
Hi Gareth,
I've just tried to add the MX record "ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM" with key "@" and preference "1".
This did not work in uppercase, but was fine when typed in lower case, so you should be able to add the same to your own domain name in the advanced domain manager.
If you are still struggling with this you could try another browser although most are compatible these days or go to http://www.dnsforms.co.uk and select a dns enquiry and enter the 5 google MX records, unfortuantely the changes are only made via this website Monday to Friday during office hours.

I had the same problem, as said before, change to lowercase and take the . off the end, that worked for me.
Hope this helps
Cheers.
