Hub 3 preventing outgoing email

Recently switched Infinity Broadband from one telephone line to another. Thought that all I would need to do was unplug from one socket and plug into the other, leaving the rest to BT. Not so. Extra fibre terminal and a Hub3 to replace the 2Wire gateway. All was well until I tried to send email from one laptop. 3 desktops and another laptop have no problem but my Macbook Pro will have none of it, though incoming mail is fine. Thinking the problem was with the computer, I re-installed the operating system and software. Stiil no joy. Took it to Mac doctor and and soon as it connected to their nework, off went the emails!!!!

The problem can only be with the router, but the settings on each computer have been checked and only one has a problem.

I swapped the old 2Wire fibre router for the Hub3 and it worked.

Can anyone tell me why, and what do I have to do to get the Hub3 working correctly?
