Can someone please help me. I have an IPAD and I cannot send email from my domain name email address using BT as ISP. I can receive, and get online but it blocks sending emails. We have other ISPs and I have no problem sending with them, but in two areas BT is my only provider and it will not send. I have been trying to get some help from BT since Christmas but there solution is to spend £30 and get the answer, if it is as simple as spend £30 and get the answer why can I not find the settings on the BT help page!
So if there is an answer and anyone knows what settings to use could they let me know, however I have a feeling that it is not as simple as that.
Your help would be much appreciated
Hi - I had the same problem.
The support people told me that I had an 'additional Device' and I could only get support if I paid £30.
Wow - tha is what I call service.
So I found my own solution.
On you Ipad go to 'Settings' , 'Mail,Contacts,Calender', Then select your Account name.
Scroll down to Outgoing Server
Should be set to 'smtp.outlook.com'
Now you need supply the user name (full email address xxx@xxx.xxx)
and also your BT password.
When you hit 'Done' the Ipad should verify these details and you should get three ticks.
If not you have made an error.
go back the the user page ( don't forget to hit Save).
Now send yourself a test email and all should be OK
Best of luck

I understand that BT/Yahoo can get "confused" if emails are sent in HTML format - so this could be your issue.
(I used to have this problem at a friends place on AOL)
Try sending as plain text and see what happens.
Hi Newbury. Try checking your SMTP or ouging server set in your ipad since you're unable to send mails. This might be updated already or changed.
