If you are thinking of setting up a eshop with BT - DON'T!!!!!

My site regulary has problems and I just try and live with because I have been with BT for years out of blind loyalty.

However, the biggest problem with eshop is that if you do have a problem with your eshop it is very difficult to get to speak to someone about your problem.

You have to navigate your way through several phone calls pressing buttons, talking to different people who through no fault of their own are not the people you need to speak to.

Apparently the people that can help you with eshop are so important and rare that we are not allowed to have their phone number and just have to hope and pray that our plea for help will get through to them eventually.

E-shop specialists at BT do not work at weekends, so if your eshop does not work through no fault of your own then quite simply...... TOUGH.

The back office of my shop was unavailable to me at 9.26am yesterday on saturday morning.  I rang the BT help line and left a message for a call back because they were too busy to answer my call.  I received a call back at 11.40am, which is well over the 1 hour promised.  My problems were noted and an email sent to a team who are not there because remember they don't work weekends!!

It is now Sunday morning and I still cannot access the admin side of my shop and so I cannot view an order that a customer has sent me a query about.  I am having to fob the customer off with mumbo jumbo as saying to my customer my shop doesn't work will not put them in a confident mood of dealing with my shop in the future.

Quite simply it is ridiculous to have a product that cannot be fixed at weekends.

Does anyone out there know of a hosting provider that works at weekends, please let me know as I am very interested.

Not very happy.....

So, there seems to be two problems - (a) an unreliable product, eShop and (b) lack of proper support.  Can we ask the BT moderator to pass this thread on to the BT eShop Product Manager and ask for his reaction? - or perhaps BT will let us have his email address so we talk to him directly.

I too cannot access my site to process orders.  This is the second time that my eshop has had problems at the weekend.  It's a complete nightmare.  I have loads of orders that I want to process and I can't do that.  I would be interested in moving my site away from BT.  For the money they charge to host it, the service is very poor.

Hi Lyrestudio, Peter_G and Tiglet,

I'm sorry to read you have all had problems with your EShop over the weekend. Are these issues still outstanding?
If you are still experiencing problems can you please private mail me details of the issue and account details, Eshop details with any reference numbers and a contact name and number.

Kind Regards
