Internal Email Problems

I am a BT business user and send and receive emails via our BT account using our own email addresses i.e. me@mycompany.co.uk and we have no problems with emails coming and going to and from other email accounts.

 

The problem we have is that we cannot send internal emails between our own email addresses, the messages get returned with the following error message:

 

"A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of
its recipients. The following addresses failed:

<me@mycompany.co.uk>

SMTP error from remote server after RCPT command:
host mail.mycompany.co.uk[217.68.23.131]:
550 5.7.1 <me@mycompany.co.uk> Access to <me@mycompany.co.uk> not allowed"

 

We have contacted our web host who administers our email domain names and they say it is a problem with the BT smtp server.

 

Has anyone else had this problem?
