Hi,

Does anyone know how to get a landline number for 0844,0845,0870 09 etc numbers so that when I`m out and about I can call them on my mobile, so that they are included in my free minutes.

Thanks Harm

Hi

The numbers you have supplied are 'non geographic numbers' and companies normally use these as the are not tied down to specific landline number. You will find that most companies will not have a direct landline number for you to call from your mobile, but an '08' number for all customers to call at the same standard rate (though mobile companies can charge more). If you find that you are calling a lot of non geographic numbers such as 0845 numbers, it would be worth contacting your mobile supplier to see if they have a call plan that includes these numbers, this may help reduce your costs.

Kind Regards

just visit saynoto0870.comyou can get the alternative numbers if they have been listed by another user.

the geographical routing is a crock. its a cash cow for these companies to make 1-5p a minute off you depending on the number.

BT get a slice too so dont want to know.

Hi ITSecor,

I can understand your feeling that 08 numbers (or non geographic Numbers) is a 'cash cow' for companies, but this is not entirely true. Non geographic numbers have a huge benefit for both companies and customers, also with 0800 numbers the company makes no money from these.

Although many people find it useful using a site like the one you mentioned, you would need to remember that the landline number the site supplies is not necessarily still active. It is a number that someone once used to get in touch with that company. The company could have moved or that landline disconnected, the number could have been transferred to someone else. Also, it may not be the number for the correct department and you could find that you are supplied the 08 number to call to get through to the main switch or reception.

Kind Regards
