But as you have not changed the copper pair, the attenuation and noise will not have changed either so you will have similar results.

A pair in the middle of a 100 or 200 pair cable will be more immune to external influences (noise) than one on the outside of the bundle but it will see a little more continuous cross talk.

I too need to migrate to a business package. I currently have a stable 3.6Mbps average and BT Wholesale rate the line at 0.75- 2Mbps download so I am seriously worried about switching as I’m getting well over this. BT Business says they will only guarantee 1Mbps on my line but that they very much doubt that the speed will fall from current but I need reassurance as 1Mbps would be a disaster.
