Moving house and changing name of original phone line in new house

Hi we are just moving house and in the new house the people that had it before have paid the phone line up until April, would they have to disconnect and would we have to register a new line? We thought we might just be able to change the name as the account holder to me but I'm not sure if its possible? Thanks

I am not sure if they can simply change details for you to use the phone line available in your new house. I think you have to get a new one. You can also ask them about it just to be sure.

I'm sure the line has to be cancelled by the account holder, it can then be taken over by youself subject to various Ofcom rulings.
