My BT network does not recognise any of the other computers which use the same broadband line

What do I need to do to make the network recognise these other computers. I want them to be able to access the shared printer and to be able to share files.

You will need to enable File and Printer Sharing in Windows.  Exactly how will depend on what version of Windows you have.  Here's a link to Microsoft's Support site: Microsoft Help and Support
