My Published Website doesn't seem to exist! HELP!!!

I have recently set up an account for the Web Hosting Starter pack to create and host my new website.

I used the EasySite Wizard and successfully created a webpage and published it.

I have since used the Site Promoter to get my site listed on search engines.

When I try and use www.swiftsec.co.uk which is my website address it doesn't exist anywhere?

Can anyone help and advise me of how BT make the site visible to the general public.  I am baffled as I have done everything I think I need to do for my website 😕

ps.  I am not sure if I have done it in the wrong section, I activate my free web page and then clicked on Manage swiftsec.co.uk and created the website there, but when I click on manage free web space there isn't a site created

Thanks 🙂

Well I am actually about to launch a web hosting business (not through BT I might add) as a reseller with a white-label platform from a fairly big provider. That monitoring tool is going to sit on every single site sold (for my benefit of course) so that I can be on top of any failures such as this - and then have the decency to advise my customers of the problem as they occur! Thanks mate, you have cheered me right up... every cloud...

Swiftsec - a whois lookup for swiftec.co.uk shows that the domain does not exist so I think this is your problem. The domain has never been registered which is a separate issue from what everyone else is reporting.

To add some reality to people who's sites were down, well unfortunately it has to be expected now and again. Not sure what BT quotes, but pretty much all shared hosting providers quote an uptime of 99.9%.

This may look impressive but a quick calculation shows that the remaining 0.1% of time equates to just over 8 and 3/4 hours a year when your site will be unavaialble.

With any hosting package of this nature, there are going to be unavoidable periods where your site is unavailable. It is frustrating but you have to accept that these things can happen from time to time.

I have tried a few web hosting companies and they all suffer problems from time to time.
