My Published Website doesn't seem to exist! HELP!!!

I have recently set up an account for the Web Hosting Starter pack to create and host my new website.

I used the EasySite Wizard and successfully created a webpage and published it.

I have since used the Site Promoter to get my site listed on search engines.

When I try and use www.swiftsec.co.uk which is my website address it doesn't exist anywhere?

Can anyone help and advise me of how BT make the site visible to the general public.  I am baffled as I have done everything I think I need to do for my website 😕

ps.  I am not sure if I have done it in the wrong section, I activate my free web page and then clicked on Manage swiftsec.co.uk and created the website there, but when I click on manage free web space there isn't a site created

Thanks 🙂

Thanks Kieran

I will give them a call tomorrow as its definitely not working, I may have done something wrong with never having done a web page before.  Did you create yours via Manage Web Page or Manage your domain name?  BT's instructions to be honest are very poor.

Thanks 😄

My website seems to have dissapeared off the face of the web aswell! Fingers crossed it is just a temporary issue, BT hosting is really beginning to test my patience with their consistently glitchy platform... Comments please BT would be very welcome at this point...

Same problem with mine as well - particularly annoying as it would appear I've just wasted the last 2 hours updating it.

And this after a weekend of email server problems!!

Cant wait to move to another provider.

BT say it is a fault that they are aware of... not that this info was easy to gain until my refusal to call an 09 helpdesk number!

Alright peeps

I've got the same problem, I uploaded yesterday and was all working fine.  I checked today at about 14:30 and got home and just checked the site and it's gone.

Basically showing Cannot connect to server.

I had problems from the start with BT when I couldn't manage the website.

After two hours of arguing, was told supervisors would be calling me, (of which one girl from india went home and didnt even tell a supervisor I wanted a call), tried calling the technical helpline again, was on hold for 50 mins, tried again whilst on hold on my girlfriends mobile, only to get through to a UK callcentre?!??!??

Was told it was cancelled.  Called again the next morning and guess what....it wasn't

After speaking to a Uk customer service rep, I got all my calls refunded (£55 from a mobile for two hours!!!!!)

Unbelievable!

Hi,

After waiting a week for google indexing, which has just been completed successfully, my published site doesn't now seem to exist either. I can't find it via the top address bar at all, but I can find a google general search link, but it brings up nothing at all.

Hi again,

I get the same as you zippy - "can not connect to server" from a google link.

What annoys me is that for those that do actually get some sleep I would be very doubtful that BT will even bother to make those people aware that their site was 'off line' for a good few hours. How many other times might this have happenned to be blissfully unaware? Check your site every hour - is that the answer? I do hope to see an explanation in my inbox tomorrow morning, together with an apology and credit note for the inconvenience. I have lost customers tonight, and god forbid the googlebot comes crawling. Not a happy bunny as you can tell...

It makes it look like our sites do not exist and meanwhile I am paying premium for a the top hosting package that is useless at the present, no notifications or email sent in advance. Come on BT this is poor.

Can any of you let me know if what I have described as doing is what you have done to create it.  Just very confused as my site is there when I go to the preview (well it was until about 45 mins ago) but when I put the web address in the address bar it doesn't find anything.  Does it take a few days or longer for google, msn etc to upload it?

Thanks v much
