New laptop

My company has given me a new laptop, but it won't let me connect to my wifi connection on the business hub without a security password.

I used the WEP number, but after going through connecting, it tells me there's some data problem.

Any ideas?

Does the hub have MAC authentication enabled? If so then will stop connection until the MAC address of the laptop is entered.

No idea - I'll ask questions at work tomorrow! Otherwise it's a mystery to me...

The BT help person I phoned to explain that I couldn't access the internet anymore helpfully suggested that if I went to www, etc ect she could access my pc to see what was going on. Erm - the reason I'm calling is that I can't access the internet... Doh

Have you tried a wired connection to check there is not a PC issue and then try connecting wirelessly with WEP/WPA turned off again to prove that you can/cannot connect.

It is possible that the security password has been updated. Try disabling authentication, and see if it will let you connect.

Hi,

It is provided by the company then it definitely having some security issues to avoid misuse of database. You have to ask for authentication key again and discuss it with the concerned department.
