Many companies now record calls for 'Training and quality control' purposes.
BT could offer this service saving people and organizations a fortune in infrastructure costs.
It could be used to provide transcripts of conference call meetings.
It would help in the fight against unsolicited calling.
It would be an evolution by taking us away from the sluggishness of text into the universal accessible realm of speech.
If you are interested I have many more ways of applying this service and would be happy to discuss these further.

Andrew
Love this idea. Am going to circulate internally and see if there is scope to do something with our Ribbit organisation (www.ribbit.com)
Hi Andrew,
We also referred your idea to our colleagues in BT Conferencing. Here's their response:
"On our Meet Me services users are able to record the call by dialling *8. There is no transcription available at present, but that is something being considered as part of the product roadmap.
We do offer both a recording and transcription services for our Event calls".
Thanks for posting your idea.
