I had to install Office 365/2016 and the new outlook. I was on Outlook 2010 and was using my own e-mail domain and my hosts' incoming mail server and smtp.btconnect.com as my smtp server but I can't seem to send mail on the new install. I don't know if the BT site is having issues but a lot of links from google seem to be down and the one page relating to Office 365 does is not for my situation I think.
Are there any other settings I need for smtp?
I didn't realise there were issues with BT yesterday until I logged on to online chat and I was number 161.
Spoke to BT today after a lengthy wait and got the correct details.
Outgoing mail server was smtp.btconnect.com
Outgoing server smtp authentication required unchecked
outgoing smtp port 25
