Re: My BT8500 says there is no link to the base. The batteries have been replaced

After 3 days of speaking to numerous people within BT, all of whom were utterly useless, I managed to speak with someone within the Business Movers team. He called after receiving my rather blunt and to the point email where I advised that now BT had completed the move, they wipe their hands of me as a customer.

The guy was very helpful and all along I had told BT the problem I was experiencing was caused by lack of Caller Display or Caller ID. BT insisted it was active and whilst I didn't dispute that, it was not working. The guy who called me took the initiative to remove Caller Display and re-assign it plus at the same time do some line tests. Within 24hrs Call Guardian was once again working as it should.

I think overall I spoke to about 11 different people at BT and I'd say 2 knew anything about Call Guardian. One person said "there's nothing we can do, go out and buy another Call Guardian".

One department I discovered that was fairly helpful was BT Technical Support Team. UK based, and quite knowledgeable although they didn't resolve the problem, they were very helpful and agreed the problem lay with Caller Display.

If anyone needs Technical help, call them on 0800 145 6789.
