Re: Versatility: lock phones on weekends but with allow for authorised users

Hi there,

While this isn't a specific feature of the system it may be possible to achieve this.

The extensions that want to be 'locked down' should be put into night class of service 1 as well as night class of service 6 and have the system speed dial override allowed for it.

In the system programming under the system option there is an option called Class Codes in here you can edit the 'Restricted Table' with all the numbers an extension in class of service 6 is not allowed to dial. So to stop anyone dialling a number beginning with 0 you would add 0 or to prevent an extension from dialling a number beginning with 4 you would add 4 to the table.

When any of the extensions then tries to dial one of the barred numbers it will get a mesasge saying call barred but it should still be able to use the speed dials.

To allow someone to dial out using a specific code you could use the alternate (or least cost) routing in the system. In the system programming under Lines and LCR codes you would need to add the code you want to use followed by the first digit of the number that would be dialled.

For example to allow people to dial numbers beginning with a 0 by prefixing the number with 159 you would add a LCR code for 1590, in the digits to replace you would enter 0, you can then choose between preferred (any line is selected) or exclusive (only the selected line is ever picked up). You would then need to select the lines you want to be available.

As another example if you wanted to allow someone to be able dial a number starting with a 4 by prefixing it with 159 you would add a LCR code for 1594 and in the digits to replace you would enter 4.

You would then need to turn the LCR codes on in the system programming or alternatively you can set the times you want the LCR codes to be active in line with the night service times.

When you dial out you should now be able to select a line and then dial 159 followed by the number you want to dial (in the above example any number beginning with a 0 or a 4). If you try and dial without the code it will say call barred. You can use any code you want, it doesn’t have to be 159 or to be 3 digits this is just an example.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Andy
