Hi - thanks for the tip on testing on DMZ option which showed me that I could get a connection. Have now got WHS remote connection working (not using a static ip address as I believe the 2700HGV uses the device mac address for port forwarding). It seems that the problem was that for some reason only one of the three required port forwarding definitions had been saved in the firewall profile I made.
