Redesiging Web site using BT Software

hi, i have a problem with my site in that it was designed in HTML and has also since had some tweeks to make it more optimisable! however I am so dissapointed with it that I want to start from scrath again.  I also want to be able to update my site myself when i want to. I am not a programmer but understand that if I go down the redesign route I will need to think carefully about naming of pages etc. so as not to delete any pages that may have been recognised by google.  Anyone any ideas on the best way for me to get started.. should I start from a blank sheet?

I would say you have the right idea, try to maintain as many page names as you can if you want to maintain Google ranking. Other than that it's pretty much up to you what direction you go in, if you plan to drop a page completely maybe set up a forward for that page to go somewhere similar on the new design or even just back to the home page. This won't maintain google ranking, as far as I know, but it will help frequent visitors find their way around the new site. Hope this helps
