Redesigning my e-shop

Hello,

I am in the process of getting my website redesigned. We have a new design already drawn up but I need to know if it is possible to save a copy of this in the e-shop and make changes to it as we see it without changing the live site until we are completely ready to cut over to the new design.

Can anyone/BT advise if this can be done and if so, how ?

Hi paula,

You can certainly do this. Simply duplicate your new design and you'll be free to work on it completely independent of your 'live' design. Nav to Design -> My Styles -> Style -> Duplicate. You can then edit it by clicking the 'start design editor' and activate it by clicking the 'set visible' button.

Orchie, I have (for now anyway) one other question. I have made a back up copy of the site and am working away on making all the changes. When it is ready to cutover, and I make this new version visible, do I need to do anything with the domain name..or should everything just stay as before ? Regards, Paula www.kittyandpolly.co.uk

Hi Paula, no you don't have to do anything else. Once you change the design everything will work as before. Orchie

That's great Orchie...I just wanted to be extra sure..should be able to cutover in 1-2 days.
