I have a bt hosting package and require a subdomain. I have searched and searched and cant find out how this is created.
I dont want a folder then a pointer to the folder. I would like the subdomain info.e-sol.co.uk
can anyone help
Hi Adamsol,
You can created subdomains by logging into the Domain console via your account at http://myoffice.bt.com.
Go into the Advanced domain manager via "manage your domains".
These will be set up as follows.
Key - info (using info.e-sol.co.uk as an example).
Record type - depends on where you wish to point the sub domain.
If it is an IP address, select "A".
If it is a server name (e.g. test.servername.com) then "cname".
If it is a URL (e.g. http://test.co.uk) then "URL".
The address will then be the destination (server IP address if an "A" record etc).
If you require further assistance please use the DNS enquiry form at www.dnsforms.co.uk..

hi
Ok i've done that but i still cant get it to look like
info.e-sol.co.uk
When a user visits the url it basically shows the http://www.e-sol.co.uk/info path ?!
Can i not have it as a info.e-sol.co.uk. I want to keep it seperate from the rest of the website as its a Canon photocopier sales website and i'm having trouble linking information articles to the site as people think i'm spamming. But the website also offers news, blogs and articles on the industry.
Any ideas
Hi Adamsol,
In the domain console you can change this to "Frame" instead or "URL re-direct", this should leave the URL as info.e-sol.co.uk.
