Subnetting on a BT Business Hub 3

Hi all! I am thinking of subnetting my network so i can create a wifi network that is open with several AP's.

The subnet will be 255.255.255.128

This should give me 2 networks of:

192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.127

192.168.1.128 to 192.168.1.255

Does the BT router allow me to do this? Can i use the DHCP integrated to the router or would i need to have 2 seperate DHCP servers for each subnetter network?

Hi davida1992,

With the business hub 3 you can change the default IP range from 192.168.1.x to a different range of your chooseing, bit it is not able to split the range.

If you are looking to have several AP's on different ranges you would need to get the AP's themselves to do the DHCP on a different range so that the business hub is on 192.168.1.x range and the AP could be on 192.168.10.x, so that the router and AP do not have an IP conflict assigning the same IP to different devices.
