In November 2010 I bought a Blackberry Torch from Vodafone. I successfully use it to receive/send mail from yahoo and vodafone accounts, but despite following the set up procecures for BT organise and share, the system does not work properly with this account, which happens to be my business email account.
1) Emails are delivered to the BB fine, providing I am not using Outlook on either one of my laptops. Whenever I access my btconnect email via Outlook on either one of my computers the blackberry mailbox refreshes, and all the messages in the inbox in Outlook are resent to the Blackberry with the current time and date, as unread emails. Thus, most of the time the date stamp on the blackberry emails is inaccurate, and it looks like I have new emails, but I haven't.
2) Emails with images or which look like a webpage, cannot be viewed once they have been received on the blackberry, neither via Outlook or on the BB. The link to the images eems to disappear.
The settings on the Blackberry for the btconnect email are:
Email Server: imap.btconnect.com
Email Server type: IMAP
Port: 143
Use SSL box NOT ticked
Vodafone insists that the problem is with BT, however BT does not support third party devices. Does anyone else have this problem or have any idea how to resolve it? If BT does not "support" third party devices does this mean that I will never be able to use the btconnect account on the blackberry with normal functionality?
