Transfer exchange and lines into BT

danny2324

We own our phones (Which I think are IP Phones) and internal exchange to transfer between extensions within our small office. We currently have our phone lines through an IT Contractor and are looking to transfer into BT Business.

Would this process be simple. What is it likely to cost? Will everything function as it does now and would we experience any loss in service. Once these systems are set up is there much that could go wrong, would BT fix issues and is there also a cost for this?

Hi Danny,

The process is really straightforward - just  a matter of filling out a couple of forms. What then happens and the costs depends on your current set-up. Your IT contractor will have done one of three things:- your calls alone could be with another provider (which I would guess is unlikely or you would be receiving BT bills for your line rental only), your calls and lines could be with a wholesale provider, who rents the lines from BT and charges you for the line rental and calls or your lines may be with another network provider, who have their own lines, so bill you for these and the calls.

In all cases the transfer process is pretty simple and BT take care of it for you. If you would like me to take a look at this for you I will be happy to do so - you can reach me at daniel.keegan@commsfm.com.

CommsFM are an authorised partner of BT who can provide you with BT's product portfolio (i.e. any agreement would be between you and BT Retail and we wouldn't be charging you for our services, over and above BT's rates).

Try emailing them want you want and they should be able to give you an offer. Once done, the process should be smooth.
