Transferring large files between local network knocks out wireless

Not happened before but just over the past couple of days i've found that when transferring large files (1 gig plus) across our network (PC > powerline adaptor > Bt infinity Business Hub > Powerline adaptor > PC) it's knocking out the wireless connection so anyone connected wirelessy gets their net connection dropped for the duration of the file transfer. It's starting to become a pain as we do a lot of video production so need to transfer large files to and from pc's and NAS drives but not at the expensive other staff not being able to get online whilst the transfer is going on.

Anyone else had this issue at all?

Hi,

I've not had this issue or heard of it before. What Hub are you using (2-Wire 2700/2701 or Hub 3)?

Is the wired connection affected if you transfer files wirelessly?

Does it happen immediately the file transfer starts, or only after a while?

Do you have to do anything to restore the wireless connection or does it restart spontaneously?

It's a HUB 3.

Wired connection are fine and stable it's just anyone trying to access the internet over wireless.

Within a few seconds of the file transfer everyone on wireless gets their connection dropped in fact it's got worse since I did the original post as now the wireless is starting to drop regardless of if there is a big file transfer although it does stay on for a while but everyday i'm having to restart the HUB 3 several times for the wireless to come back on.

Again wired connections (over powerline adaptors) aren't affected.

I have seen this problem in my home connection,  the fix for this is to get another hub (2) attatch this via a wire and disable DHCP  this will make this router (2) a wireless slave,  have the wireless devices connect to this router(2)  and this will manage the wirless connections allowing you to transfer files via the wired hub (1) without kicking off the wireless
