Just moved home, we informed BT in early August of moving in date, and were told we have to wait until September 17th to have phone line installed! A 6-7 week waiting time for an engineer!!!
BT customer service informed us that BT use an external company to install lines which services all the other phone companies too, so there's no point applying with another provider. Unfortunately we are tied in with BT for a few more months but will definitely cancel when the time comes, as I am extremely disappointed with such an appalling service.
Most of my work is done from home so this is disastrous for me - they've suggested I use BT Openzone in the meantime but that's another awful service that requires me to log on every 10 mins or so.
