Unlimited bandwidth is bandwidth with no quota limit but this is not possible in the real world as every web hosting company will be allotted a specific limit of bandwidth. The term ‘Unlimited’ is a marketing strategy by web hosting providers and can be misleading. However, the set bandwidth allotted to web hosting company cannot be practically inexhaustible by a user and hence can be termed to be analogous to unlimited.
Along with the above mentioned limitation about the quota limit, Web hosts may also have clause in their terms stating that accounts using more than their share of resources or adversely affecting the functioning and performance of other sites may be terminated. Thus, the amount of bandwidth will not be limited but the usage of bandwidth will be monitored by the hosting company in order to prevent server abuse.

If you 100 Mbps dedicated unmetered bandwidth, the provider may cap your server's switch port at 100Mbps, which is almost available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
In latter, the amount of bandwidth is not measured but it will be shared with other customers. In a 100Mbps shared unmetered bandwidth, the server will be on a 100Mbps connection shared with others. The amount of bandwidth if calculated will not be as efficient as in the case of dedicated unmetered bandwidth and may not be available 24/7/365.
