When we were advised by BT that having VOIP was the only way we could keep our telephone number when we moved, we weren't told that all local calls made with VOIP have to be dialled including the area code, nor were we told that the Call Minder service with VOIP doesn't give any indication that you have a message waiting, unlike the normal Call Minder which alters the dialling tone. If we'd been aware of these shortcomings we wouldn't have agreed to have VOIP.
I'm sorry to hear that. I would just like to point out that we as customers ar always given an agreement before signing up to a service.
It's just a pattern that we miss something like this. I don't mind including the area code in dialling local numbers. What we can be happy is that about the savings this will give us.
