We have a problem, Bt.

Hi,

in May we bought a domain name (www.annearth.co.uk) from BT. We then tried to put our website (which I had made in word using html) online, but it didn't work. We read all the guides, asked on the forums, but still we didn't find an solution. We spent a lot of time trying to make sense of everything, but no.

A week ago, being frustrated about everything,  we thought that maybe we have to buy a hosting package. We bought it, but that makes no more sense. We used FileZilla to put the .html files to the website, but only "this website has been registered by BT" appeared when we go to www.annearth.co.uk.

We have completely no idea what we should do, so please help us.

Thank you in advance,

M & A.

2 things to check:

1. When you uploaded your files, did you place them into the public folder within the webspace? If not, then nobody will be able to see them

2. If you have placed them in the correct folder, is one of them called either index.html or index.htm? If not, the server will not be abl to automatically display them. Please note that the filename has to be all in lower case as well.

Thank you very much, I just realised that the files were not in the public folder!
