Web Hosting withmy original domain name

I am new to BT business. I attempted to setup my web site on the free package with broadband and phone.

I got abit confused on how to set up customer login and finished up with a URL that is too long for customers to type.

BT tried to clear the name but could not but when I said I had a domain name they said point it to the messed up address. The domain name at present is with Fasthosts for a previous life. The messed up URL is@

http://home.btconnect.com/www.abilityshopper.co.uk   the last half being my domain name.

Does anyone know if and how I can make my domain name go to the messed up URL so that I dont have to but a hosting package.

1. Login to your Fasthosts Control Panel

2. Click on the heading for "Domain Names"

3. Click onto 'DNS' next to the domain name that you wish to edit

4. Click to 'Add an A record'

5. Fill in 'www' for the host name and 'xxx.xxx.xx.xx' for the IP and click 'Save'

6. Repeat step four, but leave the host name blank and fill in 'xxx.xxx.xx.xx' for the IP then click 'Save'

I  can't say what the xxx's are; this is your BT IP

Is there a way you can switch from your original hosting to BT hosting? This plan works best with BT as well.
