Worth changing router?

Hi,

We've just moved shop premises and after setting the router up I'm experiencing wifi problems in the office at the back of the shop. The office is probably no more than 10 meters away on the same level but there are some thick walls within the shop bewteen the router and the office. The router we have is a 2 Wire and we've had this what seems for donkeys years, would it be worth getting a newer BT business router, will it extend the wifi area to what I can currently get? I'm also experiencing some difficulty setting up a new Swann CCTV though the router in order to view over the internet, would a new hub be easier to set that up?

Assuming changing the router makes no difference or that no one knows if it makes a difference, what are my other options to get the wifi signal in my office? I've looked at some BT broadband extenders but if I'm correct you can only use these with an Ethernet lead, which is no good with an iPad etc, any other options please BT, help.

you could try a power plug wifi extender.

You could try powerline adapters as Pastieb suggests.  

Note that some larger retail premises may be fed with more than one phase of electricity supply, unlike residential properties.  Power line adapters will not work across different phases of supply.

Otherwise, I would suggest installing a long ethernet cable connecting the existing hub, to a new wireless access point installed at the other end of your premises where wifi coverage is needed.

Thanks for your replies. I thought that all the extenders were ethernet only but have now found out that you can get a wifi extender by BT that simply extends the wifi signal from the router which is basically all I need except I may also change the router to a newer BT version for the CCTV issue that I have.

Powerline Adapters are great, you should have a look at TP-Link's range - http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-WPA281-Powerline-Extender-Configuration/dp/B00ECBROCK/ref=sr_1_5?...

They are birll. Set up a couple throughout your business and change the SSID's and passwords to the same as your routers and you will have one continuos wifi signal, not different connection points.
