Yet another formmail query

Have set new webby;

www.cosawes.co.uk

Designed mostly using serif webplus x4 (and a few simplish manual add-ons) as I'm a relative novice.

Have spent hour upon hour trying to get formail configuration for the two contact forms linked on the bottom of each page. Have had to give up, resorting to the mailto option which I really didn't want as we get quite enough spam already thank you! Sounds like many people give up from forum searches I've done.

I have googled BT formail configuration and the few relevant results are years old. I can't find any remotely helpful set-up suggestions on BT 'Help & Support(?!)' pages, which I find a little odd as it's an add-on they offer and promote!

Can anyone tell me why you can't see and therefore edit a .pl or .cgi file in the /public/cgi-bin, only a tiny config file in the /private area?

Have tried the formmail set up options in the domain manager but unsure if these then conflict or differ from what my form cells are asking people to respond with . . . . does it matter anyway so long as I set up the refererer and recipient? Will all the form content arrive in an email regardless of any other setting other than the referer and recipient?

The difficulty I'm having seems, partly, to revolve around using serif webplus x4. In-so-far-as the form page html is generated for me by the software and I'm unsure how, where or what to insert into it using webplus' "attach html to page" option in order that the correct html is generated in the upload process.

Has anyone the time or inclination to walk me through it step by step??? (Please, thank you lots and lots!)

P.S You might have to drop the www in front of cosawes.co.uk.

That's another whole issue! BT's DNS department were supposed to have sorted that by now. With the www. you get intermittantly redirected to 123.com who I obtained the domain from.
