Zen Cart 403 Forbidden

I hope someone can help I have uploaded zen cart but when trying to access the setup files The 403 error screen shows.

I have used this software on other servers with no problems. I have checked permissions and they are all set to allow access.

Can anyone help.

A 403 error usually occurs when the required default file for the directory does not exist.

What is the default file the directory? Is it something like index.php?

It could be failing to find it due to a .htaccess file in a directory above this which is overriding the server defaults with the DirectoryIndex command.

Also check that the default file has been named correctly, eg index.php and not Index.php as the server is case sensitive.
