I have had the domain for 12 years moved to BT  2 years ago wrong!!!!!!!! (I thought it hosted on uk servers but found they are in the u.s) we have been unable to publish for a few nights as the message was its unable to open the website.

We opened the browser on that computor connected via broad band  to view our site and found another website is
showing  up.

But when we view www.westcountrylinks.co.uk from a computor connected via T-mobile our site all seems to show o.k

Has anyone else had this problem.

Please can any one help!

I have just clicked on my website this morning and have a picture of a blond and i nthe top corner the words debt consolidattion. As i run a mail order book business this is not what I expected.

Contacted BT and have been told that the Web Hosting was being moved and they are showing my site as expired when it has not.

Fuming at the moment they say will be rectified wuthin 24 hours.

I suggest everbody on here checks their site NOW.

Hi Barry,

This does sound like your domain name has expired. You can double check by going to ping.eu and clicking on whois and check the expiry date of your domain.

If it is expired you can renew the domain via btdomainnewal.com. Once you have renewed the domain, your website should be back up in around 30 minutes.

No Bt have admiited they are moving websites to new servers and have messed up.

Only my site it seems and my site is showing as expired when it has not.

Great for my customers who now think I cannot pay my bills. The web site handlers are not back on duty until Tuesday

I'm told.  Bt very apologetic but not much good for me or my customers.

Watch this space for more ranting from me shortly.

Barry,

What helpinghands has said sounds correct in my opinion. Although BT were making some server changes it shouldn't have caused this problem and the symptoms that you are describing sounds exactly like that of an expired domain.

I would strongly suggest going to the following link and entering your domain. If it needs renewed, you will be able to do it there and then, rather than having to wait until Tuesday.

BT your employer admitted that in moving domains mine and 4,000 other domains were taken down and not transferred.

It gave the impression to my customers that I had not paid by bill and let my domain expires.

I demanded they emailed me detailing the problem.

I got the following vague reply:-

Your reference number is 110531-000770.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you've been having with your website.

I am sorry to hear you are having these issues.

This issue was unforseen and was caused by the migration of domain names over to a new server platform.

I have checked your site today and I am able to view this without any issues.

If you are still unable to view your site, please can you let me know and also confirm who you are using for your Broadband connection.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
