We have a home worker who uses a wireless laptop - his router is tucked away under the stairs so can't use a BT Falcon phone.
If he uses BT Communicator, then he can't transfer calls to others in the office. Is there an alternate softphone he can use maybe??
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can use Microsofts office communicator (which BTOC is based on) but the VoIP helpdesk will not provide you with the SIP server details, they cant risk people configuring 3rd party non capable devices onto the network and causing chaos for other users. You can get the details online if you know where to look.
One solution, have you thought of getting two powerline adaptors?
Plug one in where the router is, one where you want the falcon and boom, you have a new network point to plug the falcon in.

Thank you. Nice solution. I like the idea of the Powerline adapters. - Actually we are already using that to move the broadband around but never thought of using it to plug a phone into - magic!
