With the new settings I can no longer download emails to outlook express. I keep getting:

Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication. Account: 'RonBux', Server: 'pop.outlook.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '.', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

 

Anyone any idea why?

The clue is in the message "Unable to logon to the server using Secure Password Authentication" - neither old or new platform use SPA. Untick that option in your account settings, and choose the option on the Advanced tab to use SSL.
