email on iphone not working

I have a BTConnect email address and 2 own domain name addresses, the domain name addresses are not hosted by BT but have been registered with them as being used with my BT account. At home I have no problems sending or receiving emails on my desktop or my iphone, however when out and about I cannot send emails from my iphone although I can receive them. The incoming server settings on both my desktop and iphone are the same. outlook.office365.com, SSL, port 995. On my desktop the outgoing server is smtp.btconnect.com but on my iphone the outgoing server is smtp.office365.com. SSL and port 587 are used in both cases. I've tried changing my iphone outgoing server to match my desktop but it doesn't verify. Any ideas?
