Hi,

Has anyone had same problem.

My shop has been with Bt for over 7 years. The charges were increasing all the time.

August  2011 I telephoned BT sales for advise and was recommended a package 24 months for £117.00 per quarter + Vat which included all calls including mobiles and free broadband. At this point we did not have broadband connection, not problem stated agent just ring and we will sent out router ect no cost when ready.

Dec 2011 we were ready, phoned Bt, no problem stated agent, she stated she would have alter paper work but everything ok, email arrived everything ok router all ok.

Paid bill Jan-April  £144.00 few extra costs not included in  package calls, no problem.

Paid  bill April-June  again no problem £144. 24 again few extras.

SHOCK received a bill for broadband packages  £69.00 on top of usual invoice.

Telephoned BT and was told I had ordered a broadband package and must pay.

Cut to the chase after 2 months of emails, 35 phone calls, Kim Johnson in customer complaints sent me the following email:

I have agreed to put a credit on your account for £250.00 + vat as a good   will gesture. From now on your monthly bills will be £44.50 + vat (£133.50 per   quarter) but if you take that credit off over 2 years it makes your line   rental £34.09 (£102.25 + vat per quarter) but you will see the amount as   £44.50 on your bills.

Everything sorted my god no

July bill = £143.05 = recurring charges?

25th Aug  £65.26

24th Sept £233.19

24th Oct £65.47

24th Nov £71.98

24 Dec £68.59

less £250.00 credit less £16.30 credit = total now due £181.16

I telephoned and asked as I am on a fixed tariff for 24 months how come the charges differ every month. I was told by Millie from the Philippines on Thursday," No you are incorrect there are no fixed tariffs" " yes you have a contract for 24 months but in the term and conditions Bt can increase prices whenever they justify them".

I asked Millie if I understood correctly. "I have agreed to a package with BT that ties me in for 24 months which allows Bt to charge me as much as they can justify and if I did not agree, I can cancel my package and pay BT 1 years fees for zilch 0 nothing. " that's right" stated Millie"Its all the terms and conditions on the web site. that makes it ok then.

I refuse to pay, I am waiting for a reply from Kim.

On Monday I am going to try to charge customers up front for goods and then when they collect them request additional monies.  Yeah right, trading standards would be knocking at the door by Thursday. After 24 years in business I run an ethical business and do not rob unsuspecting people.
