hi, Since the switch from broadband to Infinity earlier this week, my XP computer is having a couple of problems.
First I am continually getting a message about BT detecting errors and needing to fix the problems.
Secondly I am losing the connection quite often. It normally connects again when I refresh the page.
There are other computers on the network and this is not happening to them.
Any ideas please?

This may be an adverse reaction to the Desktop Help Assistant which is causing "false positives". I'd advise testing it after un-installing the Desktop Help Assistant.

yes. it is a useless feature! It seems to respond to the word 'error' being displayed anywhere on a page. Since I am developing software this occurs quite a lot!

1. It took many tries to get the updated 'service', which was virtually forced on me with a message every time I switch on. Is there any way of saying 'No I do not want this service'?
2. Once installed it does nothing but report an unspecified broadband problem and offer to fix it. If accepted it promptly opens a the Home page window and soon after reports another unspecified broadband problem, ad infintum.
How do I turn off this service?

I'm not 100% sure, but try to disable it under the tab of services in system configuration. To open it type "msconfig" into "RUN"
