I have 2 domains hosted by BT.
Whenever I'm outside the UK, I can only email using my btconnect email address which is unsatisfactory as I've invested time and money in registering the domain names and the corresponding websites.
And I often find I'm stuck with using the the very poor webmail facility - I use Outlook 2010 normally which has all of my contacts and email history.
Will I be able to email using Outlook and the domain related email addresses when I'm migrated to 365?
If not, then I'm going to have to use a VPS and move my domains away from BT.
Hi,
That seems a bit strange, because if you can use your @btconnect.com addresses then you should be able to use your domain ones as well, as they are only aliases if you're on the old platform.
Domain addresses will work differently on Office 365, as they'll be actual mailboxes instead of aliases, and with the change of port numbers you should (in theory) have less bother when you're abroad.

Hi spl-hilldale,
You should be able to use your domain abroad via email.btconnect.com on the old platform, however before you leave you need to login to myoffice.bt.com - manage services - email - manage mailboxes - select your btconnect.com address you login with and choose "from address" this will allow you to send from a domain address, however you still need to login with the btconnect address (no customers will see this).
As far as I am aware you should be able to send using outlook on either platform when abroad however you cannot login to http://myoffice.bt.com
You would be able to access webmail for the new platform via http://login.microsoftonline.com
You can also access the BT Website centre via http://hosting.hostingbt.com/OS4/ logging in with your ftp details.
Further to this ftp access is available abroad.
Thanks,
Steve
