BT sales agent is proving to be unprofessional. I took out a business phone line and broadband on the basis of a particular phone number. Virgin media was going to install the same number for me but gave me a later date, and BT came and told me that they would get me the same number and an earlier date being that a telephone number is crucial.
The number was confirmed with BT, all on the paperwork had confirmation of the number, until today, they have changed the number to some random number, which I do not want at all but, now I am stuck in the middle, being that my business is due to open the 18/4/2011.
I am very unhappy with the way BT have treated us.
It may just be a temporary re-umber until they can port over the other number. I don't know enough to say either way. Has the line etc already been installed? If so I would suggest to contact the relevant team using these contact options: Telephony Or if it hasn't yet been installed try calling the after sales team using these contact options: After Sales Hope this is a little help.
Some of BT staff have no common sense. Strange that I can't make an official complaint until my line is installed or at least that is what their staff says.
securecars, it is BT's policy to only investigate complaints once an issue is resolved for two very sensible reasons. Firstly, we require a full set of facts and circumstances in order to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion and be able to learn, as an organisation, from it. Also, any compensation due must be calculated in accordance with how long it took for the issue to be resolved. I am sorry that you have had some difficulty, I take it that this is still in Hand with BT?
I am moving this thread to: Phones, phone lines and phone services since it involves the provision of a telephone line.
BT is playing the safe game, and taking customers for every penny. If i cancel before install i cant complain, if I wait after install, my 14 days is then lapse and im stuck into a contact. So its a win win situation for BT
Today the line and broadband has been installed. Engineer told me to call BT to have number changed. Called BT, told I need to speak to sales for a re-number, after about 3 calls and waiting on hold on each call for no less than 10 mins, i got through to someone, ask for a manager and the guy who picked up said he was.
Explain to him what had happen and what i was doing, only to be told job hasn't close down and that I will need to call tomorrow and no guarantee that I will get the number I was promised. WoW, go on BT, great service, by far the BEST.
