iPhones and Wi-Fi

We've just upgraded to BT Infinity and supplied with a HomeHub5. Our iPhone 4S's will not stay connected to the 2.4GHz channel (we do not have the 5GHz facility on thee phones) it just keeps dropping off, lodsing the signal. Is this a "known" issue and is there a fix for it please?

Hi there,


Try turning off the 5gz altogether.  No documented known issues with that but it could be a faulty router.

Hi MichaelD,

 

@spank is correct, it could be an issue with the 5Ghz coming from the Hub 5, you can access the Hub 5 and either switch the 5Ghz signal all together or just rename it, so that you know not to use it.

 

As you are using a Home Hub 5, you might need to contact the home broadband team is this does not help to see if they can supply you with a new Hub or are able to sort the curent one.

I Wouldn't waste your time!

 

Been trying for months to get a stable wifi connection and it would appear there is no chance with BT's shockingly poor Hub 5!!!

 

As has been pointed out - 'there are no known issues' - according to BT, yet loads of people seem to suffer this problem.

 

What are they doing about it??? Nothing.

They'll just blame you and say there must be some interference causing the problem.
